He is also Chairman of the Sun Foundation, a charitable institution registered since 1998. Sun Foundation has been established for the welfare of mankind, serving many altruistic aims and carrying out relief work across the world. The Foundation has undertaken several projects in this regard: ‘Angels of the Sun’ (free education home for needy children), ‘Taare Zameen Par’ (free vocational training institute for disabled youth), and the ‘Save the Girl Child’ campaign (to improve the circumstances of girls’ lives). Mr. Sahney produced the music album Tere Ishq Nachaya, released by Universal Music in April 2009. The videos of this album dominated music channels for over five months.

Music and soul poetry has been abiding interests of Mr. Sahney since his childhood. His renditions have long been available to select audiences for private listening. However, in the context of his commitment to the important social issue of “Saving the Girl Child” he decided to make use of this talent to release an album and dedicate the album as well as its proceeds to this noble cause.

Mr. Sahney is International President of the World Punjabi Organization (WPO) which is a non-political organization with Shri I.K. Gujral, former Prime Minister of India as its Chief Patron and its branches spread over 10 countries. The organization fosters social, economic and cultural unity among likeminded people.
Mr. Sahney has played a pivotal role in sponsoring and hosting various seminars and conferences. He has led peace delegations to neighboring countries, bringing people of different faiths together to celebrate religious events such as Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday. He has promoted the rich heritage of Indian history and culture through several light and sounds shows with hundreds of performances all over the globe and by supporting the advancement of Indian literature through the sponsorship of several books.
